My Statement
I’ve always been into continuity and cohesiveness. So, each of my paintings in each of my series has something that bonds each other together. I use my paintings as a creative outlet to “speak out loud”. Some things don’t need to be said out loud but still need to be stated.
I like to tell stories and I like each piece to have a meaning. Whether it reaches someone visually or not, that’s not important to me. I only paint for myself. If the painting is understood by someone that means they’ve had an experience or been in a situation such as mine which makes the connection between the artist and the audience a lot stronger and personal.

I use a system of opposites, visually and mentally. Whether it’s between light and dark, night and day, love and hate, religion and sac-religion, or politicians and non-politicians. The thought of opposites is always present. When an audience is around, I want them to have a 360-degree view of the world that I am trying to portray.
I usually leave the painting’s meaning up to the viewer, until asked. I don’t expect to sell my pieces at shows, but if I sold, that means a lot more to me than landing a commission for something that someone wants to look like something else of mine or someone else’s work. Also, I’d rather sell my painting to someone who understands it from my point of view with less money, than to someone with a lot of money that just wants a decoration on their wall.
I use a mixture of highly detailed lines and broken washed out lines. In a sense I bring the important parts into focus and fade out everything else in each painting.
My mission is to tell stories from every point of view, aspect, and/ or situation. I want people to understand that everything we do, see, and experience plays an important part in our future. It’s almost as if I’m creating this life long book of “what not to do’s” or something to look back on as time passes on. We can only hold on to our memories for so long. For me I like to hold on to them forever and with a few dabs of paint, a couple of brushes, and good music, I do just that.
