This is what happened earlier today when my mind wandered off just a tad. What can I say? ..an artist is always thinking! This painting I created was done for Urban Rescue’s latest EP. They saw my cover on a San Diego based magazine called, “CityBeat”. They contacted me via e-mail and the rest was history! Urban Rescue and I still remain good friends to this day! They’re a very talented local band from of San Diego. Check them out @ www.urbanrescuemusic.com

So, I am just about to start the designing process for Bombay Status’s album cover. I know time is overdue but, I’ve got the itch! Stay close to see the whole process of the project. In the mean time, check out a short video on the band themselves.

This night light box/house was a collaboration/concept piece made for my “House Warming” series in 2008. It was hand crafted by a good friend of mine named, David Saucedo(SD). He is an aspiring Architecture student that is well on his way to becoming one of the best! After, Saucedo worked his magic on a few pieces of Bass and Balsa wood along with my ounce of painting! We came up with our first prototype night light box/house. We plan on creating more of these in the near future. We also have a few tricks up our sleeves for different items similar to this functional piece of art so sit still and be on the look!

So, this was a long overdue project that was supposed to be done for a good friend of mine. Finally, we hit the studio together to knock this one out! He wanted to be involved with his piece so I had him drop by to give a helping hand. After trials and tribulations ..and a few hours of hard work I give you, The Saucedo family portrait.

If there’s one thing that I need most while painting I’d have to say music. Not, just any music but music that I can vibe and zone out to! Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of Lykke Li, in fact she’s one of my favorite music artists to this day. Unfortunately, she had a show tonight in L.A. and boy did i miss out! Thanks, to a friend though and a five minute voice mail I had a front row seat to her show …well sorta. If you don’t know her..then get to know her!
